The Mayfly
Our July meeting was held at the Mayfly, Testcombe nr Stockbridge. A lovely riverside inn beside the world famous trout stream, the River Test.

Billed as an "Impromptu Run", a euphemism for find tour own way there. All the way there the rain clouds were threatening, made to look all the more menacing by the contrast between them and the sunlight. We chose the scenic route via Hurstbourne Tarrant, St, Marybourne, Hurstbourne Priors, Forton & Wherwell, a great run.
Shortly after our arrival the rain started which meant a wet debut for Brain and Marion Hall's XK8 and Mike Byng's newly restored Mk IX. Out of the rain and into the dry of the bar, the evening was well attended with many members deciding to dine from the varied blackboard menu and others content to chat amongst themselves with a beverage or two.
The showers continued throughout the evening and ended with a wet trip home but it did nothing to dampen what was a very pleasant meeting with our friends.
